How do I register and collect sales tax?
A resale certificate allows retailers to buy products tax-free if they plan to resell them. If you’re selling Printful products and have a valid sales tax permit, you can submit a resale certificate to stop being charged sales tax on qualifying orders.
To use a resale certificate, you first need to register for a sales tax permit in the state where you’re doing business.
We also recommend requesting a resale certificate from state authorities. This certificate is different from a sales tax permit; it allows you to purchase products without paying sales tax on the Printful side, provided you plan to resell those products and collect sales tax through your business. Sales tax only needs to be collected once for the same goods.
Once you’ve submitted a valid resale certificate to us, your Printful orders shipped to the relevant state will be exempt from sales tax.
