How do I create images to use?
You can create designs for your Printful products in several ways—using the built-in tools in the Design Maker, uploading your own artwork, or working with a professional designer. Whether you’re starting from scratch or already have a finished design, the options below help you create images that are ready for print.
Free graphics library in the Design Maker
The Design Maker includes a graphics library with a selection of free design elements you can use on their own or combine with other design options.
Some graphics are personalizable, allowing you to edit text or certain design elements directly in the Design Maker. You’ll also find embroidery-ready graphics and text elements designed specifically for embroidery products.
Customizable pre-made templates
To help you get started, the Design Maker offers a range of pre-made templates that you can customize to fit your design. These templates typically include editable text and graphic elements and can be adjusted to match your product, audience, or occasion.
You can reuse customized elements when creating designs for other products.
Text designs
The Design Maker includes a Text tool that lets you add custom text to your products. You can use text on its own or combine it with images, logos, and other design elements.
Depending on the product and print technique, you may also have access to additional text options, such as curved text.
Images by Printful’s AI Image Generator
You can generate original images directly in the Design Maker using Printful’s AI Image Generator. Enter a text prompt describing the image you want to create, select a visual style, and generate an image to use in your design.
Each Printful account includes 15 free image generation attempts per day. One image is generated per attempt, and the daily limit resets every 24 hours.
AI-generated images can be used on their own or combined with text and other design elements.
Upload your own images
If you already have a design, you can upload your own images and artwork to the Design Maker. Make sure your files meet Printful’s print file requirements, including supported file formats, resolution, and size, to ensure the best print results.
Hire a designer through Fiverr
If you’d prefer professional help, you can hire a designer through Printful’s Fiverr partnership.
When you select Fiverr in the Design Maker, you’re taken to a Printful landing page with more information about the collaboration. From there, you can continue to Fiverr to find freelancers who specialize in creating designs for print products.
This option is ideal if you have a design idea but need help bringing it to life.
Other design options
You can also create designs using external graphic design tools and upload the finished files to Printful. Popular options include browser-based editors like Adobe Express, Pixlr, Photopea, and Canva, as well as desktop software such as Adobe Photoshop or GIMP.
Alternatively, you may choose to work with a professional graphic designer outside of Printful.
