What is a resale certificate and how can I submit it?
Printful applies sales tax to orders shipped to states in the USA where Printful is registered for sales tax purposes. A resale certificate, also known as a sales tax exemption certificate, serves as proof that you are eligible to purchase an item tax-free for resale purposes. Valid resale certificates can qualify you for a sales tax exemption on orders made through Printful. Learn more about whether sales tax applies to you.

- Choose “Retailer” as in this business relationship, you are the retailer.
- Make sure your resale certificate is signed and dated (if submitting by uploading it).
- You may write “Print-on-demand clothing, accessories, and home & living items” when asked to describe the property you intend to purchase from Printful (if submitting by uploading it).
- Printful may require that you submit the following documents for verification: your state sales tax license for each state ID number you will be using on a resale certificate, as well as your business registration license if you are using a DBA (Doing Business As) name.
