What should I do if a product is discontinued?
When a product or a specific product variant is discontinued, we’ll notify you by email as soon as the information becomes available.
What you need to do next depends on whether only some variants or the entire product has been discontinued.
If some product variants are discontinued
If only certain sizes, colors, or other variants are no longer available, you have two main options:
Remove the discontinued variants
- Open the product in My products.
- Republish the product without the discontinued variants.
- The product will remain available for sale with the remaining variants.
Replace the discontinued variants
- Update the product by replacing the discontinued variants with available alternatives.
- This lets you keep the product active without removing the listing entirely.
Note
After making changes, make sure to republish the product so the updates are reflected in your store.
If the entire product is discontinued
When a product is no longer available at all, you’ll need to choose one of the following options:
Replace the product
- Switch the discontinued product to a similar available product.
- Update your listing to reflect the new product and republish it.
Remove the product from your store
- If there’s no suitable replacement, you can remove the product by hiding or deleting it from your store.
What if I have an “On hold” order with a discontinued product?
If an order is on hold because it contains a discontinued product or variant, it can’t be submitted to production as-is.
In this case, you’ll need to:
- Edit the order and replace the discontinued product or variant, or
- Cancel the order if it can’t be fulfilled.
